About the Trip

I am getting close to finishing up my degree at San Diego State, and have decided to take a nice little two month backpacking trip through Europe with Stacey after we both graduate this May. Yes, I know backpacking through Europe is cliche. But there's a reason everyone does it. It's amazing. There is such an incredible and varied history from one place to the next that even with the time we have, we won't have begun to scratch the surface of what is available.
We won't actually be backpacking per se. We'll be exploring the continent city by city using the rail system that connects just about everywhere to everywhere else. Where those everywhere elses are waterlocked, we'll take ferries. Living out of a backpack is more like it. I guess we have to figure out how to fit all our necessities for two months of travel into a knapsack that can fit into an overhead compartment on the way over. That'll be a real learning experience. The only downside - besides needing to find and do laundry probably every week at least - is that I don't think there will be much room to store many remembrances of the places I've been. I guess that for the most part pictures will have to do.
